FOREX

Forex, also known as foreign exchange, FX or currency trading, is a decentralized global market where all the world's currencies trade. The forex market is the largest, most liquid market in the world with an average daily trading volume exceeding $5 trillion.

This Global FX marketplace is open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, giving us on average ~251 trading days of opportunity a year.

OPPORTUNITIES IN FOREX: WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

Just like stocks, you can trade currency based on what you think its value is. If you think a currency will increase in value, you can buy it. If you think it will decrease, you can sell it. Maybe you hear on the news that China is devaluing its currency to draw more foreign business into its country. If you think that trend will continue, you could make a forex trade by selling the Chinese currency against another currency, say, the US dollar. The more the Chinese currency devalues against the US dollar, the higher your profits.

COMMODITIES

Commodities are the group of tradable instruments including: metals, energy and food stock. The market price of such instruments directly effects the cost of living. The cost of crude oil will effect the cost of filling a car with fuel. The market price of soybeans will effect the cost of food in the supermarket.

Today we have simple ways to trade commodities by using futures contracts and cfd's. These contracts do not require the physical delivery of a product.

Shares

If a company becomes public it will partake in an IPO (initial public offering). The shares of the company can then be traded on an exchange. Exchanges offer a place for buyers and sellers to transact at a price determind by supply and demand. They are in fact, secondary stock trading markets. Existing owners of shares can transact here with potential buyers.
